           ECHOES OF A VERSE

          Venture I would not

          Ever penning a prose

But a verse pen I lovingly

Would be it about a rose

          That grows in the garden

          With others of its ilk

          In words deep and shrill

          In words short and succinct

With sweet scent of a mint

Or fragrance of a rose filled.

    Fathoming the deep bluish sea

    Watching the noisy bumble bee

The poet’s fancy catches the glow

Of a glow worm even if it be dark

Around he can see the light lit stars

    Which on the milky-way, copiously

    Glisten bright, glittering from afar.

A prose may without an end

With a style verbose a story tell

Fill though it may not the heart

With the echoes a verse sends!

A prose I would not love to pen

Though my verse may not be read

A plenty by the avid men or women

Yet my love for the verse I ‘ld keep

For the love soaked arrow when shot

Off the bow of a poet of love lore

Pierce the woods dark and deep.
