Cheerful Childhood Days
---------------------------------
The days spent in childhood, frolicking,
Wandering, making sandy homes near the sea
Days spent playing hide and seek, pranks aplenty
Days that we spent surprising all in the tiger skin
Days spent listening to songs that lull us to sleep
Sung by a granny dear lovingly drawing us near
Telling stories of valor, of king and fairy queens
Just when we play prank, away she would us wean
Time watching cartoons spent and in lot of reading
Ample comics and children story books a galore
All this happen merrily when as children we grow

Days seem not long that as a child we so joyfully spent
Playing mischief playing pranks as do we tiger pretend
Days in adulthood are too short running away in a jiffy
Days in old age, long painfully stay not to wither soon
Hatred, lust, greed clothe us soon as we pass a childhood
A life of a child is sweetly spent reminisce we all its tales
A life of a child is wonderful to tell as God too tend us well
We are in the sweet care of God, in the care of parents too

How lovely were those short days when worries kept aloof
How lovely were those days when love for all we did spill
How happy were the days then happily everything in joy ends
How sadly do I desire ever for those joyful days to never end
How keenly I love longing for those joyful days to soon return!
